Who We Are
Yogeeta’s community contributions and cultural work have been widely recognized. In 2012, she was among Canadians awarded the prestigious Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for outstanding service and dedication to community development. She has also been honored during International Women’s Month in the Peel Region, alongside receiving multiple accolades that highlight her commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive care.
In 2026, Yogeeta was formally recognized by the Prime Minister of Canada for her impactful work in the senior care sector, further underscoring her leadership and dedication to improving the lives of aging populations across the country.
A dedicated community builder from early in her career, Yogeeta is also the founder of Candles of Hope (est. 2009), a charitable initiative supporting the Canadian Cancer Society. Through this initiative, she successfully organized large-scale fundraising events, including a gala attended by over 500 guests. Her efforts received strong community and civic support, including recognition from leaders such as Olivia Chow and the family of the late Jack Layton.
Beyond formal recognition, Yogeeta has played a pivotal role in bridging gaps between healthcare systems and diverse communities. She is a passionate advocate for seniors, caregivers, and underserved populations, working to amplify voices that are often underrepresented in mainstream healthcare conversations. Through her leadership, she has supported initiatives focused on aging in place, caregiver education, and improving access to culturally competent home care services.
As an educator, mentor, and consultant, Yogeeta is dedicated to shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals. She frequently speaks at conferences, panels, and community forums, sharing insights on leadership, wellness, and the evolving needs of aging populations. Her work emphasizes a holistic approach—integrating physical, emotional, and social well-being into care delivery.
